Whiteman Park Fire Season Advice

During the fire season, Whiteman Park Management reserves the right to close the park to activities on a day by day basis during periods of extreme fire risk. To judge if the field is likely to be closed, follow the link below and obtain the Fire Danger and Fire Index rating for the Metropolitan Area - Coastal Plain. This is found under the heading Lower West

Fire Danger and Fire Index rating

If the Fire Danger is Extreme, the field will be closed.

If the Fire Danger is Very High, there is a possibility that the field may be closed depending upon the Fire Index. If the Fire Index is between 30 and 39 the field is likely to be open, however it is worth phoning the Duty Officer on 9209 6099 to confirm the situation. If the Fire Index is between 40 and 50, the field will be closed.
